"Digging Up the Marrow" (2015)

Watched Adam Green's latest film, "Digging Up the Marrow" (2015). If you're like me and grew up loving monsters and always imagining a world where undiscovered creatures roamed in the deep, dark forests, you're going to adore this film like I did! More of a "mockumentary", it chronicles director Adam Green following around a possible nutcase (played by one of my favorite genre actors, Ray Wise) who claims to know where an underground lair of real monsters exits that he calls "the marrow" (think Midian from "Nightbreed"). As the investigation deepens, Green becomes as equally obsessed with the marrow and things go from lighthearted to dire, as tensions build between the two men. What surprised me was how well Green was able to play off of a great character actor like Wise, who is certainly an old pro, without missing a beat. All in all, I found it to be wildly entertaining, with some great comedic bits thrown in amongst the spookier elements.  9 out of 10 for me.
